Uh... excuse me. Kevin? Kevin Costner?
I like you.
I really do, buuuut....
I could tell by the requisit "p.o.a."... piece of ass friggin' chick that seems to have to show up in and thereby WRECK most good "guy movies". Stallone is good for this crap, too. Anway, I knew when I saw her that it was a bullshit movie.
So, I didn't bother. For 15 years, I managed to avoid this stupid movie. Then, today, (in fact it just ended), Eric has it on while I'm here, on the computer listening to Roger Miller and trying to find Edelweiss from TSoM to download. I was mostly able to ignore it, but, occasionally I'd glance over. Here is what I saw: A buncha buffalo poached
A horse murdered
A wolf murdered
The stupid bitch requisit piece of ass alive Kevin...
WTF, man? I even went so far as to read IMDb about it and I'm sure... I hate it.
I hate it so very much, I almost hate YOU, ya gorgeous fuck. I hafta go watch Tincup now, lest I ever happen to be anywhere near you and feel compelled to simultaneously kick you in the balls really hard and punch you right in the throat. You sick bastard. I'm also gonna go either erase or whiteout the blurb on my Lonesome Dove poster that says: "Without Lonesome Dove, there would have been no Dances With Wolves..." Don't eeeven try blaming Lonesome Dove for this... this abomination... this animal snuff film.
There was no gratuitous animal murdering goin' on in LD.
'Course, the whore lived in that one, too, but so did Call, so it was worth it.
But, again, LD woulda been juuuust fine without her. Anyway, back to my point... Dances With Wolves is absolutely horrible. Gonna go watch Tincup about 47 times in a row now to get the vision of DWW outta my mind. Don't EVER do that again.
Damn.

Personally I loved this movie because it showed the reasons why killing those animals was so very wrong. As well as, why the native American Indians lived a lifestyle and held a philosophy about living that made them respect the earth and the animals on it. The woman and Kevin Costner's character rejected their "white" man's philosophy in favor of the Native Americans and both were destroyed for it.
Just my 2 cents!

Sue me but I loved Mary Mcdonnell in DWW. All rumpled and wild. She never looked better.
But that's just me. Never too far from a prurient interest.

It's not the actress(es) I can't stand, it's the character(s) they portray in these movies.
It's a female/jealousy/bitchy-kinda thing.
See, I love Stallone (have since "Rocky"), Coster, et. al.
And, when I go to watch one of their movies, I always wind up hating the "love interest" in the movie.
I don't need to see that, ya know what I mean?
I just wanna look at the gorgeous guy and drool... *grin*
These stupid "girlfriend" chicks just mess it all up.
I can think of exactly one movie that doesn't put me through this crap... "Full Metal Jacket"...
Animal Mother does NOT have a girlfriend, God Bless 'im. He treats women just like what aLOT of them are... expendable ho-bags.
I like that.
I like that way better than having to watch them get laid.
And, what really annoys me is just how superfluous these stupid female characters usually are. Except to "service" the main guy character, they are completely useless and unessential to the plot or storyline... not remotely necessary.
Remember back in the 60's and 70's, when celebrity's agents or managers would always make them appear to be single and thus, available, to their fans?
They weren't supposed to let on if they had a girlfriend...
Well, those agent/managers were right.
I loved Clint Black til he got married.
Ain't bought a single one of his albums since.
Loved Dwight Yoakam like no other, til he fucked around with the Commie-cunt's niece, Bridget.
Now?
I hate 'im.
(And, this is after I forgave his "dalliance" with that idiot, Sharon Stone. Shoulda known then...)
It's stupid, I know, but it's the truth...
And, what's even weirder is, if I "find" a guy in entertainment and he's already married, I don't care. For some unknown (to me) reason, that doesn't bother me.
And, I don't always hate the female leads...
Love Cher in MASK, even though she gets to be with my quickest panty-puddle producer, Sam Elliot.
Don't hate Baby in Dirty Dancing, either.
Still like Julie Andrews in TSoM, even though I'd love to BE her and end up with Chris Plummer...
Hell, I even like Rene Russo in Tincup, even though she ends up with Kev-bo in that one. And, believe me, I'd not have taken so long to dump that dickhead Simms and run off with Roy.
I don't know what da hell the difference(s) is(are) but, with some guys in some movies, I just wanna be rid of the "chick" character.
And, to be even more odd about this... I don't necessarily like Lorena in LD, BUT... I can tolerate her because she fucks GUS and it's Call I'd want...
So, tell me... please.
what is UP with this with me?
Damned if I know....
*hugs ya*

Hmm. Interesting stuff. Really deserves a post of its own, doncha think?
I guess my reaction, as a non-*total*-horndog kinda guy, is that I see the actresses in isolation. Fell in love with Holly Hunter in "Raising Arizona" and haven't cared a whit about what she's done in real life ever since. Hated Sharon Stone from the git go (except when Ah-nold "gives her a divorce" in "Total Recall") though I have to admit that if I could find a woman who looked like that but wasn't SS, I'd jump on her.
I just don't know. I guess the essence of attraction is based on such a combination of factors that it can't be simply broken down. I like Kiera Knightley but *love* her voice. Not enough to see "Domino" though. Oh heck. I'm babbling. I'll just STFU at this point.

Oh suuuure. 'Cause, like, "babbling" around here just isn't done, Son... *lamo*
Wanna know something even odder about my whole actresses/characters thing?
I hate Rachael Green on Friends most of the time, because of how she treats Ross, especially after that whole "We were on a BREAK!" thing, right?
Yep...
BUT... in real life, with that whole deal about her, that moron Brad Pitt and that lunatic Jolie, I'm with Jennifer on this one.
Brad is a total asshole if he thinks he's "special" somehow.
Jolie marries every swingin' dick she makes a movie with.
SHE FUCKED BILLY BOB THORTON, FER FUCKS SAKE!!!!!
Ew, ew, ewewew.
(Not to mention she sucks face with her own brother... "Insects is best", I guess... *shudder*) (Stupid comments wouldn't let me use the "real" word...)
I think Brad and Angelina deserve each other and I hope they both treat each other just like they treated other people they've been married to.
Horribly.
Meantime, Jennifer is coming across in a sympathic way to me and I hope she just keeps on keepin' on and ends up loved as much as she needs to be.
Usually, if I don't like a character, I don't like the real life her, or him, either.
I have YET to forgive Carl Weathers for the first Rocky.
And, don't even get me started on that Drago dickhead...
And, Mr. T. Wanna see him drug behind a bus, too... with me driving.
See?
I am MENTALLY DEFECTIVE when it comes to this crap.
Thank Gawd it's all just that... crap.
I'm real sure these people give a rat's ass what I think of 'em anyway....
(Oh and I can see where Holly Hunter could be "intruiging". I like her in that movie "The True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader Murdering Mom", or whatever in the hell it was called. That thing about Wanda Holloway, from Channelview, Tx. She was good in that.)
In other words: Babble away, Bay-bee!!!
