"The Obama Administration is the Most Fiscally Irresponsible in the History of the U.S."
That comes from a paragraph of Kevin Hassett's at Bloomburg:
Nothing President Obama has done adds up. Not his economic strategy, nor his domestic policy, nor his foreign policy. Just an eighth of the way through his presidency Barack Obama appears to be the most dangerously incompetent man to have ever held the office, doing more long-term damage to this nation than any foreign invader could have ever dreamed. That he has another 3 1/2 years in office ahead of him, and an equally radical coalition of far left activists in Congress until at least 2010, is disheartening, to say the least.
The federal picture is so bleak because the Obama administration is the most fiscally irresponsible in the history of the U.S. I would imagine that he would be the intergalactic champion as well, if we could gather the data on deficits on other worlds. Obama has taken George W. Bush's inattention to deficits and elevated it to an art form. The Obama administration has no shame, and is willing to abandon reason altogether to achieve its short-term political goals. Ronald Reagan ran up big deficits in part because he believed that his tax cuts would produce economic growth, and ultimately pay for themselves. He may well have been excessively optimistic about the merits of tax cuts, but at least he had a story. Obama has no story. Nobody believes that his unprecedented expansion of the welfare state will lead to enough economic growth. Nobody believes that it will pay for itself. Everyone understands that higher spending today begets higher spending tomorrow. That means that his economic strategy simply doesn't add up.

As the Washington Post reporter Hiatt noted today, Obama is the reverse Reagan. Obama does have a plan. Escalate all government spending massively now and then jack up the government's percentage of the GDP from 18 percent to twenty eight percent or more by increasing taxes on everything that moves.

ANYONE who thinks that the Emperor is accomplishing or HAS accomplished anything FOR this country is a fool and blindly ignorant...and trying to blame the financial situation on the previous 8 years shows them to be a bigger fool and totaly unaware of the proven historically financial facts that showed while there were some faltering signs of problems, trying to say that Bush created the worldwide financial downfall is simply an avoidance of the unforgivable economic crisis this imposter to government has done to the next 2 or 3 generations of Americans....remember, even those who supported Obama are going to SUFFER...showing ANY level of support for this imposter makes my blood boil more than I could ever imagine...

He is doing exactly what he said he'd do. He's "returning the nation's wealth to its rightful owners". And he gets to define "rightful owners".

Of course he has a plan. That people still don't get this -- that even many conservatves don't and continue to write him off entirely as "incompetent" or "naive" staggers me. But maybe because I grew up on the Left and sat through more late night conversations with deeply hateful pseudo intellectual anti-American ideologues like Obama than I can recall, I have an advantage.

Reagan believed that he could get Congress to cut spending and Tip O'Neill the speaker promised to cut spending as part of the tax cuts. Of course, Reagan was dealing with a democrap Congress intent on raising taxes and spending so Reagan ultimately had higher deficits than he would have liked. But those deficits were like 3 percent of GDP, ten percent of Obama's projected deficits. For Reagan to keep a democrap Congress to just three percent deficit looks miraculous by today's standards.
