Government Takes Money
How about this story? A government agency took money illegally. The government agency clearly admits that they took the money illegally and should not have taken the money. However, they are NOT going to give back the money. Why? Because the people who paid the money weren't forced with guns (at the moment) to pay the money.
Go ahead, try and convince me we have freedom anywhere in North Carolina. Can you see the absolute unmitigated gall of these bastard "public" officials? They told people that if you want to build something on your land, you must pay this cash to the government, or the government would stop you from building. The people who owned the land submitted to this extortion because they wanted to build on their privately-owned land. Then, when it was revealed that it was illegal to extort that money from the private landowners, the government says, "Too bad, we already have the money, and we're not giving it back." I don't care how you try and sell this one -- it's government gone WAY beyond it's boundaries. $3 million dollars illegally taken from people and the government will not give it back. How can the people of Cary simply sit back and take this crap? An immediate violent overthrow of that government would be well within the boundaries of the Constitution of this country.
