More "Free" Healthcare
North Carolina is once again trying to beat out the US in providing health care "for the children" that YOU, the working stiff, will have to pay for. And who are the "poor children" that are being given free healthcare? In many cases, anyone who has a family income of less than $55,000 is considered "poor" by the Democrats and will be provided with "free" heathcare whether they want it or not.
I don't understand why we can't learn from other socialized medicine countries. It NEVER works. I was recently talking to someone who just came back from Canada after living there for 20 years. She was saying that the healthcare system is great -- as long as you don't actually need it. It works fine for simple, basic things, but for anything more than the sniffles, it's crap. The wait time for major surgeries, even emergencies, can be incredibly long. But that doesn't matter to the Democrats of North Carolina. They are going to need to raise taxes, of course, to pay for this new $1.4 billion "healthcare for poor children," but that's not their money, so they honestly don't give a damn. Of course, this is only the beginning for the socialists who run North Carolina -- this system would force insurance upon just 40,000 of the 270,000 alleged uninsured children in North Carolina -- so once this one is in place perhaps they'll follow the Massachusetts model and start fining people who refuse to buy insurance. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
