High Gas Prices? Don't Blame Bush

Instead, people in Wisconsin can blame the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture. This is apparently the unelected government bureaucrats who have directly ordered a gas station to raise their prices by at least 3 cents a gallon. Seriously.

The entire concept absolutely baffles me -- but that's because I am still deluded enough to really want to believe we are in a free country. However, as this event shows, I'm just plain wrong -- we do NOT have freedom in this country. It simply doesn't exist.

If there were freedom, I would be free to purchase an item from a supplier and sell it for any price I wanted. I could sell it for 10% more than I bought it; or I could sell it for 50% more than I paid. Heck, if I wanted to, I could sell it for LESS than I paid for it. Obviously, I couldn't keep that up for too long, but I would be free to do it. But not in America today.

Why?

Well, according to the bureaucrats in Wisconsin, it's not "fair" for me to sell at a different price than anyone else. In that state, the government gets to determine the sales price of gas. I would love for someone to try and convince me of the difference between that and socialism. The government is controlling the manufacturing, delivery, and even the price and profit for the sales of an item. Folks, that is the complete and total opposite of freedom. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

8 For what its worth, the layout is certainly wonderful. You know how you can balance writing and images/videos. Nonetheless, I cant get over how small you actually bring to light here.
