NC Legislature to Raise Taxes
Are you surprised? This is what Democrats DO. They raise taxes. That IS their platform. They continue to raise taxes EVERY time they're elected. So what North Carolina taxes are the Democrats in the Legislature wanting to raise this time?
First, they want to raise the sales tax by and extra "halfpenny." Of course, that's really raising the tax by seven percent because they are going to raise the sales tax from 6.5% to 7%. Why? Because they want to spend more money, plain and simple. They want to force YOU to pay more for anything you buy in the state so they can spend money on, well, whatever they feel like this week. Keep in mind -- part of that sales tax money goes to PERSONAL accounts of the Speaker of the House and the leader of the Senate (both Democrats). Seriously -- they're completely unaccountable for that money. What else? Oh, they want to raise the income tax as well. They have decided, in their infinite wisdom, that too many people are earning too much money, so they want to punish those who work and succeed by taking away their earnings. Why? Old faithful: "for the children." And yes, people STILL buy that line! So you there, servant of the state -- get back to work and work harder -- the Democrats who run North Carolina need more money and they're certainly not going to work and produce anything, so you better.
