Sue Myrick on Bank of America

I'm amazed. I'm shocked. A politician is actually doing the right thing, no matter the consequences. This is what is meant when you hear that integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching. This politician is actually taking an action that is only good for America -- but will likely cut off funds from one of her largest campaign contributors!

Sue Myrick, one of my personal favorite politicians is doing good. That shouldn't be surprising to me, as I've followed Ms. Myrick since the late 90s. She represented me when I lived in Charlotte and continues to represent conservatives rather well most of the time. I have personally contributed to her campaign and I've not been ashamed to say so. The big "SUE" sticker on the back of my car is my open support for her -- even though I don't live in her district any more.

In case you forgot, Bank of America has decided that making a profit is more important to them than America. They have been promoting criminal activity and supporting illegal aliens with bank accounts and credit cards. They have been claiming that they've been "obeying the law." Sue Myrick has decided that if they're "obeying the law" when they support criminal activity, then the law should be changed!

Myrick's bill would make it so that banks can only accept legal United States forms of identification to ensure that active criminals will not be opening accounts and transferring money out of the country (perhaps in support of terrorism). And Bank of America is Myrick's biggest campaign contributor, so she's really risking a lot with this action. GREAT job, Sue Myrick!

Oh, and the Democrats oppose this action because they love illegal aliens. Mel Watt, Democrat racist from Charlotte, is either a moron or is intentionally trying to confuse people. He claims that he opposes the bill because he doesn't think banks should be responsible for checking people's immigration status. Since the bill doesn't require banks to actually check ANYONE'S immigration status, Watt continues to make a fool of himself.

We need more representatives like Sue Myrick. Then maybe we could have a country called "America" again.

1 This is such crap. We had to change the name of our corp bank because it had the same initials as a "terrorist" group, and no bank would transfer money to us. They can check lists for possible terrorism acronyms, but they can't check for legal id? BS meter off the scale.

2 There's no question that the executives of Bank of America are willing to break the law for profit and are willing to subvert freedom and America if they can monetarily gain from it. It makes me wonder who else they're doing business with because they might make a dollar.

3 Wait, you don't want the illegals to have credit cards and bank accounts. What kind of heartless bastard are you?

That's right... the same kind I am.

4 Hell, I don't even think they deserve the protection of the Constitution! But then again, I'm a radical because I believe in having a national country called America.

5 I'm gonna look up Fred Thompson's radio talk show where he filled in for Paul Harvey. I hear it was a good one because he talked about illegal aliens issues.

6 I haven't heard his position on the criminal invasion. But I know where Tancredo stands.

7 Watching Fox News last night and it was mentioned that he made a statement on the Paul Harvey Show about telling the Mexican President that we are a sovereign nation and that we will protect our borders and that if Mexico has to export their people because they can't afford to take care of them it was too bad... now that's paraphrasing so I wanted to hear it from the speaker himself.

8 That's sure an opposite position of our current president and every single Democrat in the country.

9 Precisely. I haven't found anything but one news article about it so far. either they don't have the paul harvey broadcasts up yet, or I can't play them for some reason. all i can hear the monday broadcasts.

10 The establishment does NOT want someone like Tancredo running for president -- he might actually WIN! Instead, the media and the National Republican leadership want more huge-government, power-monger types like McCain or Guiliani to win the Republican nomination.

The media will be happy because then they'd get a lefty in power, no matter who won the general election. The Republican leadership would be happy because they'd get a big-spender in power who would help advance the Democrat agenda (bi-partisanship).

11 Does anyone see the irony of this? Rep Sue Myrick, a big opponent of illegal immigration is riled up over Bank of America's new credit card that illegal immigrants might be able to use. Does anyone else see the irony in her solution?

US Rep Myrick wants to punish Bank of America for issuing a credit card that illegals could use.... by moving her account to another bank that is sending thousands of North Carolina jobs to India.

Myrick joins fight against BofA credit card
U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick, a Charlotte Republican, has joined the protest against a new Bank of America Corp. credit card that can be used by illegal immigrants...

Myrick has typically been an advocate of the city's big banks, and her campaign reaps donations from their workers
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/115/story/57176.html

Myrick plans to move her accounts to Wachovia Bank.

Wachovia is in the process right now of offshoring 80% of its processing work to India.

"Wachovia looks at outsourcing tasks" Mar 27, 2007 As part of an ongoing outsourcing effort, Wachovia Corp. is looking at shifting some payments functions handled by a business group in Charlotte and Winston-Salem to a firm in India.

...By the end of this year, Wachovia is looking to cut annual costs by up to $1 billion through outsourcing, improved processes and tightening expenses. The initiative is expected to eliminate up to 4,000 jobs http://www.charlotteobserver.com/123/story/58190.html

I wonder if Myrick will be getting her donations from India?

12 What's wrong with outsourcing? It's not criminal. It's not openly breaking the laws of America. It's not destroying America. It does nothing to remove the national borders of America.

13 whats the difference between sending 80% of a business' jobs to India, and allowing foreigners to live and work here, and go into debt?

Which hurts US more?

Having our social security numbers, drivers licence numbers, mothers maiden names (passwords), address and account number being outsourced to India?

It looks to me that a bunch of bumbling idiots have run our country into the ground.

Seems as if our number one export is jobs, and our country is growing weaker and weaker.

There is no loyalty left towards our own.

14 You're comparing apples to oranges. Bank America is not "allowing foreigners to live and work here." Bank of America is encouraging breaking laws and helping people to break the law. That's very different from simply paying some people in another country to do work. We used to be a nation of laws.

We certainly agree that bumbling idiots have run the country into the ground. Sue Myrick, however, is not one of them, as she's one of the very few in Washington who actually support America having borders. She supports America. She wants America to survive. Very few in Washington now, and none of the "top tier" 2008 presidential candidates have any interest in continuing America as a country.

Loyalty to our own? That would be great. People who come to the country illegally and break the law, take our money, and refuse to assimilate are NOT our own.
