NC Democrats Raise Taxes Again

Despite having one of the highest sales taxes in the southeast, Democrats in NC simply don't have enough of your money to spend. Mike Easley says "it's for the children," and everyone is forced to open their pocket books. Democrats are now preparing to raise the sales tax by 14%.

The currently filed bills will only raise the sales tax in Pitt County, but do you think for a moment other counties will sit by and let Pitt County have the highest sales tax in the state? Currently Mecklenburg County is quite proud to have a higher sales tax than the rest of the state. When this bill passes, Pitt County's sales taxes will exceed Mecklenburg's. I expect to see a bill filed immediately allowing Mecklenburg to raise their sales tax by an additional 1% -- there's no way the scum politicians in Mecklenburg will allow any other county to collect more taxes than they!

Worse, when the sales tax increase is complete, all the Democrats will actually claim they didn't raise taxes! Seriously! When the sales tax in Mecklenburg changes from 7.5% to 8.5%, every single Democrat in the General Assembly who voted for the tax increase will say, "Oh, we didn't increase the tax, we just did what the county asked, and we gave them permission to raise the tax."

At the same time, the slimeballs county officials will all say, "No, we didn't raise the taxes, we had to because the general assembly forced us to." And when campaign season comes, watch every last one of them claim with a straight face that they didn't vote to raise taxes.

What a pile a damn liars.

1 Well, they are working on a same type situation here. Apparently the lottery hasn't done enough for education here so government officials are talking about raising taxes on things like cigarettes, gasoline, and other commodities to pour into a broken education system.

The sad thing is they get away with it.

On another note, I sorta kinda have to defend while denigrating Al Gore. His home in Nashville has been subject to not one but two rate hikes in electrical bills. My bill is running an average of $60 higher this year than last year. These type rate hikes have to be government approved.

However, you've got to hand it to him for staying consistently stupid considering he didn't have a clue that's why his bill is so high and instead used the carbon credits as an excuse. I mean, when you're a millionaire, the size of your utility bill isn't all that important, is it, that is, until somebody points out the hyprocrasy? Or perhaps he didn't want to admit the Democrats supported the rate hikes that are bilking us average citizens, so he prefers to look like a hypocrit and a stupid one to boot.

2 Last year when the passed the lottery under VERY suspicious circumstance (a leg injury that hospitalized a senator who would have voted "no" and another senator who was on a sudden "vacation" who would have voted "no"), we were told over and over again that this was the solution to all our education problems. A year and $400 million later, all they want is MORE. I just can't believe so many people still buy the line "It's for the children." It KEEPS working.

3 Actually, I can't say it's working here and not just for the obvious reasons stated already. Residents in TN have won the big lottery exactly one time and what's more the person who won it bought the ticket in another state. Seldom is any of the big jackpots won here. So, basically the lottery money is going out of state making a poor state even poorer. On top of that, the illegal alien population here is a nightmare that no one seems to want to deal with.

4 And they'll all get re-elected next time.

PA did me proud last elections. All those reps who did the midnight vote for a pay raise got ridden out on rails. And then? Gub'ner Rendell makes special jobs in different areas of government (like the PA Liquor Control Board) so the schleps won't be unemployed.

I HATE POLITICIANS!

6 Wasn't it PA that tried to get every single incumbent out of office? Man, that would have been awesome.

7 One of the best activities for getting your system into shape and losing weight is something that a lot of women are scared to attempt. Weightlifting can be a daunting activity for any beginner especially in a crowded gym environment. Seeing the scores of overly muscled men as they throw about ridiculously heavy levels of weight can scare many from your weight room and maintain them happy and comfy hovering over their exercise bikes or treadmills. This is not always a good option for someone who is bodyweight and get in condition however and building true muscle should be part of anyone's exercise and fat loss regimen. Muscle helps to burn off fat and muscle also helps shape the body- so choosing a weightlifting program for women can be extremely helpful for them within achieving their goals.

But so how exactly does one go about choosing this type of program if they really are a beginner? Well, as may be the case with beginning any new activities the wisest advice is to simply take it slow. You don't have in order to rush in and grab the heaviest weight or even advanced program you learn about to start making improvement. In fact, this has become the easiest way to impede your progress. Your goal is to get in shape, not hurt yourself. Additionally, you don't even have to lift free weights to build a?substantial amount?of muscle.

In any gym environment there are usually a number of machines which you can use in your weightlifting program. One of the trainers on-site or members of the gym can surely help you to get acclimated if this is your first time. Your goal as a beginner should be to incorporate as many muscles as possible into each movement a person make. For instance, first-time weightlifters are most likely wasting their time by doing sets Inversion Table of bicep curls. Rather, choose a compound movement like dips or pull ups utilizing a machine that recruits many muscle groups at the same time. Performing these exercises will allow you to work your biceps, triceps, delts (shoulder blades), upper back, trapezius, and also the muscles of your whole forearm. In the same timeframe it would take you to do a few sets of curls to simply hit your biceps or even push downs you've worked a good portion of your entire upper body.

The same is true for the lower body. Many women assume that a weightlifting program must consist of such singular exercises as leg extensions or leg curls. Instead, a few sets of high rep body weight squats provides you with much bigger bang for the buck. Body weight squats are simply just performed by standing upright and squatting down till your thighs are about parallel using the ground making sure to keep your knees behind your own toes. This one exercise can function your glutes (butt), leg biceps (hamstrings), quadriceps, calves and believe it or not, even your abdominals. Add a few sets of push ups to these exercises already mentioned and you have worked your entire body.

As you can easily see, developing a weightlifting program for women to help them build muscle and burn off fat is not as hard as once perceived. Taking it slow and simple will be your key to a healthful and effective weight-loss program.
