ACLU Demands Diplomas

The ACLU in Palm Beach County, FL, are planning a lawsuit to "demand" that the county start printing diplomas for all students. No, this has absolutely nothing to with education or learning -- just like any other government-run "school" district.

At issue is the graduation rate of high school students in Palm Beach County. The ACLU says that the number is too low, and they are shopping for plantiffs and a judge who will "order the school board to improve those rates." No, the ACLU has no comment regarding the educational abilities of the students, they just want more to have diplomas. It is not known if the district plans to give out diplomas to all residents of the county as the ACLU prefers, in accordance with "their constitutional responsibility."

This is today's ACLU, whether you want to admit it or not. They want, support, approve of, and actively work for, total socialism. In the minds of the ACLU, everyone must be perfectly equal, no matter what. According to the ACLU, some people should not be smarter than others. And if some people are smarter than others, those smart people need to be punished and brought down to the level of dumb people. That's the only way socialism works: everyone must be completely equal -- well, except for the "enlightened" leaders of the ACLU, of course.

If you're donating to the ACLU, they are using your money on this crap. Don't donate to the ACLU, they're opposed to capitalism and freedom everywhere.

1 I'm at a point where I'm speechless and depressed.

2 Sorry to hear that. It's hard work, especially today, to defend freedom.

3 Ogre - if anyone asks you for a worthy cause for the money they used to donate to the aclu(natics), send them to me. I guarantee I will use my legal skills (after law school) to sue the aclu (and of course counter sue when they sue) AT EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY. But, as you know, law school isn't cheap, so I figure a conservative going to law school is a better use of their money than the aclu(natics), right?

4 Sounds like a good use of money to me. Then again, flushing it down a toilet is a better use of money than giving it to the ACLU.

5 Holy Crap, only 46.6% of all high school students in Palm Beach county graduate?

The ACLU should be suing to get a better education for those students and find out why only 46% are graduating instead of trying to get the county to just graduate them.

I would be embarassed that only 46% of students are graduating. I think Detroit has better numbers then that, that is truely embarassing.

6 They would sue for a better education, but they honestly do not care. They honestly do not want a better education. They just want a better graduation rate, no matter how it's done.

Sure, they'll claim they want a better education rate (maybe), but they're liars. To be completely honest, the primary reason for the lawsuit is cash -- the ACLU relies on cash settlements (mostly from taxpayers) from lawsuits to fund themselves.

7 It's all about the numbers, really, not the quality. They really don't want educated people around, if you think about it, but the numbers count because the better the numbers the more tax dollars they get to control.

8 Because the paper is so much more important than the knowledge it represents,eh?
jeez you've made me mad with this story

I'm going into teaching within the next year. I'm currently taking the indoctrination courses, and it's really amazing how much thought is put into trying to figure out how to get people to learn. And yet, we still fail on so many levels.

and just handing out the papers is supposed to make that go away.

sheesh

9 Teachers want people to learn. The education system wants warm bodies to get taxpayer cash.

10 Congrats and admiration, birdwoman. I thought about doing substitute teachng here but when they told me I had to pay for a background check, I stepped back. I wondered if they even bother doing background checks... considering the number of idiotic uneducated pedofilic teachers here... and thought that basically they were telling me I had to buy the job. I need a job to make a living, buying one rather defeats the purpose.

11 The background check was so one government agency could ask another government agency about your criminal background. And yes, both agencies and every single employee in them is already paid 100% with your tax money, but apparently they still need MORE of your tax money for them to do their job.

12 This just makes me soooo mad I can't speak straight (or write). Why not raise money to help the educators instead of sue them over something totally useless that will NOT help anyone... in fact cost the schools MORE money to pay for the lawyer fees. ERGGGGGGGGGGGGG... This makes me see red.

13 It's unfortunate, but this is what the ACLU DOES. Their primary concern is gaining money for themselves and nothing more. Destroying freedom and democracy are a close second, but they'll only continue doing that as long as it's profitable for them.

I wish a government would counter sue them for billions.

Posted by: Ogre at February 27, 2007 10:57 PM (kft0e)

14 So let's say for a minute that the ACLU is successful with this inanity. That would mean that those who have really earned their diplomas would be consigned to meaninglessness (Is that a word?).

15 That's exactly how socialism works: since everyone must be equal and some are more talented than others, those who are more talented must be brought down to the lowest level.

Knew what the background check was for. I did the same work for the DOD schools overseas and let me tell you about background checks... LOL...I think it took me the entire day to fill out the paperwork, plus being fingerprinted, among other things. What I objected to was the fact that I was being required to buy a job by paying for the background check.

17 "That's exactly how socialism works: since everyone must be equal and some are more talented than others, those who are more talented must be brought down to the lowest level."

Under socialism, talent wouldn't matter anymore and people would be equal. Talent does not thrive under oppression. Instead, it dies.

Posted by: Steph at February 28, 2007 01:56 AM (AC9Dc)

18 Talent does not just die, it is violently crushed by the oppressive government! Socialism cannot survive with creativity, progress, and rugged individualism. That's the main reason socialism hasn't got a total grip on America yet -- there's still a lot of people who simply refuse to give in, no matter how attractive government makes laziness and dependency appear.
