NC Chiropractic Costs?
I don't think you can answer the question if a cost increase is good or bad without determining WHY the costs might go up. At consideration right now is a move by the NC Legislature -- they may repeal a law that forces insurance companies to not allow a free market. ANY time the free market is increased, I'm for it, no matter the consequences.
The law right now in North Carolina says that insurance companies must charge the exact same co-pay for medical doctors and chiropractors -- no matter what the market will bear. That's a bad law. That law is anti-capitalist and anti-freedom. Therefore, it's highly unlikely that the Democrat-controlled General Assembly will actually pass the law. However, if they do, I'm all for it. I'm sorry to the chiropractors that might lose business because of the action -- but the free market WILL dictate what services and medical procedures will cost, if it's allowed to -- and I think it should be allowed to. Sure, the chiropractors don't like this potential action -- but if you support NOT repealing this bill, you're supporting using the government as a bully to FORCE people to pay more for your services. That's wrong, no matter who does it, or why. For that very reason, I will be surprised if the Democrats in the General Assembly actually pass this bill -- but I will be glad if they do. Freedom is always better.
