Rewards for Not Working

The socialist government of North Carolina (gerrymandered majority Democrat legislature) is considering paying people to not work. Well, after all, they're just following the federal model of paying people for NOT doing something. And yes, if you actually work and are productive, that's YOU who is going to be doing the paying. So I hope you're planning on working a little extra this year because there's lots of lazy "poor" people who are depending on you to pay them while they sit on their rears.

And where is that money going to come from? Rumors have it that the state will raise the sales tax rate across the state so they can give a few dollars to people who don't work. I mean that's fair, right? Make everyone pay more (including those who will actually receive the cash) so the state can pay people to not work?

In the liberal world, my viewpoint is considered "heartless." In the real world, it's considered freedom. In case you don't understand, the ONLY way government gets money is to take it from someone else who produces it. Government produces NOTHING, ever. So they are honestly planning on rewarding people for not working by punishing those who do. What sort of reality-based system is that? It's called communism -- where everyone works for a common middle ground.

That's a horrible way to run a government. In a freedom-based society, people would be free to keep what they earn. Then those same people would be free to help anyone they wanted to. That's how government ran for a hundred years or more in America, and it worked just fine. But that's now how government works now. Instead, people are not free to help others because they have to first meet the heavy burden of massive government taxation or go to jail. And those who choose to sit on their rear ends all day? Well that's just fine with government, because government will give them money, food, housing, education, and well, anything else they need. What incentive do people actually have to work? NONE from government, that's for sure.

Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

1 Well I am getting $322/week for not working.

It actually sounds like your talking about Michigan. Our Governor refuses to put a limit on the amount of time you can be on welfare and is not talking about raising the sales tax or income tax so she will have enough money to cover all the programs in Michigan (which includes welfare) and the newly signed into law which is going to give college tutition to all HS seniors wishing to go. Great, so now I am going to be paying for some slacker who doesn't want to get a job and will go to school using free tutition to party.

2 If the non-worker in question is an elected official, I'll say $1000/day.

The less they work, the fewer stupid laws get passed.

That's worth a LOT.

4 Well, in QW's defense -- she actually PAID that money into the system. Maybe not in cash, but that's money that she would have earned if the company wasn't forced to pay into the system on her behalf.

And Harvey, I'd pay even more to get the elected officials NOT to work. Especially now with the feds working MORE! NOT something I wanted to see, that's for sure. As far as I'm concerned, Congress can work 1 day a month and I'd be happier.

And Oddy? They don't pay you not work? Try it. Just don't work for awhile and I bet the government will show up with a check for you! And if they don't, you might have to let them know you're not working, THEN they'll send you a check!

Thanks for stopping by, everyone.
