Charlotte Housing: NO Freedom
It used to be, once upon a time, a long time ago, a man's home was his castle. In fact, that's one of the primary ideas upon which this country was founded: that people should have the freedom to own property. Over the past 100 years, however, that freedom has been quickly eroded and destroyed. Now the Charlotte City Council is working to do all they can to completely eradicate all traces of property rights in Charlotte.
Today the Charlotte City Council will meet to discuss whether people are living with the "correct" quality of life. They appear to be ready to pass a new ordinance that will put you in jail if you fail to have their property decreed quality of life. In their minds, this means that if you have too many people living in a certain arbitrary square footage area, you should be jailed. What is the proper, freedom-based solution? To let people live their lives how they want to without government interference. If it's not directly affecting other people, why should the government get involved at all? Because Charlotte City government is interested in communism, not freedom.
