NC Seeks Billions to Give Away

The NC Legislature is already working on a $1 billion tax raise for 2007. Since the legislature is ruled by corrupt leftist Democrats, they will likely pass a tax increase of more than $1 billion next year. But they've just now discovered that they really need an additional $24 billion to cover "future health care expenses for retired state employees."

What another load of crap. WHY are there hundreds of thousands of state employees? Why do they get ANYTHING when they retire, much less full health benefits? Sorry, state employees, your jobs should NOT be better than the private sector. In a free country, the state would not EVER compete with the private sector. It's just wrong.

But no, North Carolina is run by Democrats. They have absolutely no problem taking more and more and more from anyone who works and give it to someone who does not. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.
