Romney: The New Maverick?

Ugh. Romney thinks he can be McCain. Or replace him. Or court conservatives or something. And the Boston Globe likes that idea. Not the Ogre:

1 You forgot Newt Gingrich. Seriously, though, I think that there is a void now that Allen is struggling so much with his re-election bid. I am impressed with Romney, although I'm not totally comfortable with his shift on abortion from somewhat pro-choice to a firmly pro-life position. I wrote a previous post on that hereIt does seem that the shift is politically motivated, but I am inclined to believe that his view is genuine.

My ideological ideal is someone like Gingrich, rather than McCain, but I don't think Newt can win. So Romney would probably be my second choice if I had to pick from the current field of candidates.

Sorry I got a little long-winded there.

3 Tancredo. All the way!!

Between these two though...I don't know who is worse. I really don't know.

4 I can't see myself voting for either one. But in NC, I won't have any choice because the state won't allow anyone else on the ballot.
