Another Lawsuit Lottery Entry
Yes, we have yet another entry into the vast lawsuit lottery. This time it's "a coalition of veterans' groups" who are suing, claiming their "privacy rights" were violated when the government screwed up (what's new?) and their records were STOLEN.
News flash for the judges that might hear this case: the records were STOLEN. The government didn't intend to damage anyone. NO HARM has come to ANYONE because of the theft! It used to be that in order to collect damages, according to common law and hundreds of years of tradition, YOU HAD TO BE HARMED! You may have heard the saying, "no harm, no foul." It applies here! NOTHING has happened to the people who had their records stolen. The case should be dismissed and the people who filed it should be fined heavily to discourage others from wasting enormous piles of MY money (via taxpayer funds wasted in defending this moronic case).

OK I thought I heard it all now. And this reminds of me medical lawsuits...really- where a person finds out a procedure wasn't done "correctly" but no damage is done...they sue anyway. They always lose though.

They need to more than lose! They need to be FINED for wasting MY money in the court system. LOSER pays is the only way to stop this crap. Heck, the lawyers that file these damn things should be personally fined, too!
