Retain NC Monarch?

I have various news items sent to me using a couple different services. One of the keywords that I look for in news articles is "NC General Assembly." This usually gets me information about the goings-on in the Democrat-led North Carolina General Assembly, but it also occasionally gives me news from The Himalayan Times -- in Kathmandu.

When I got a link to this article with a headline that said, "NC Wants Ceremonial Monarchy Retained," I didn't know if this was an article from Nepal or from North Carolina. After all, the state of North Carolina has been run by a Democrat for over a hundred years. The governor has been Democrat for 16 straight years. The Senate has NEVER been Republican, only Democrat.

But it turns out the article was about Nepal and not about North Carolina...not that you could really tell the difference...

1 It would be typical all right for a rogue state within the U.S. to go looking for a monarchy when most of the rest of the world is trying to go away with them
