Got Cash? Spend it!
That's what the Democrat-controlled North Carolina General Assembly is going to do.
Last year the Democrats who run North Carolina (Governor, Senate, and House) raised taxes by billions of dollars. They claimed they had cut the budget to the bone -- and that was before the $400-million-for-schools lottery passed. So, this year, with an already new $400 million in cash, they are going to collect as much as $1.3 BILLION more than they had budgeted for. So, since the Democrats believe that government only exists to spend money, they ARE going to spend it. When times are bad, the Democrats raise taxes because they claim that incomes to the government are down. When times are good, Democrats create new programs and spend MORE money -- creating spending that simply cannot be removed when times are bad. One legislator, a Republican (like it makes a difference these days), when asked about "requests" for some of the "newfound cash" said:But there are a lot of things Santa Claus isn’t going to deliver
Hey moron -- Santa doesn't STEAL FROM OTHER PEOPLE to get his money -- YOU ARE. In order to collect that $1.7 BILLION, you had to TAKE IT FROM ME. GIVE IT BACK, YOU THIEF. A Democrat said that he'd be glad to spend the money on "local mental health programs." Yet another just said, "blah, blah, spend money." One Republican, Trudi Walend, may have been heavily medicated at the meeting. She actually said that she wouldn't be surprised to see the "temporary" half-cent sales tax repealed. I would be absolutely shocked. I think Representative Walend has forgotten that Jim Black (D) and the Democrats are running the show in Raleigh. Folks, it's YOUR money they're spending! Wake up!

That's right. Whenever Democrats have money, they always want to spend it. And whenever Republicans don't have money, they always want to borrow it. Your anger is misplaced by venting at the Democrats, sir. Democrat or Republican has little to do it with. Is there anywhere yyou would like to see greater municipal investment? If someone disagrees with you, do you automatically become a moron? Personally, I see mixture of political influence as being better than all out one party rule. Do you realize that China holds a larger percentage of the debt amassed by the most recent gaggle of politicians in Washington than any other country? Getting angry at one political party too often leads individuals to make excuses for another. Enough with Republicans and Democrats. I'd like to see the Libertarians and the Greens go at it for a while.
