NC AG Ready to Buy Votes
North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper is ready to do whatever it takes to buy votes. That's a more accurate headline for this story about "gas gouging."
The Attorney General says it's not fair that people are actually earning money in this state. He wants to investigate everyone that is earning money from the processing and sale of gasoline: "We also want to expand beyond retailers. We want to go after distributors and even suppliers." He very disappointed that he doesn't have the power to attack and bankrupt private businesses engaged in the free exchange of commerce unless there is a "state emergency." He's urging the Democrat-controlled legislature to change the law so he can interfere in free commerce any time he wants -- all because "it's not fair." Right, Democrat candidate for governor Roy Cooper, it isn't fair. It's not fair that you're making a living off MY labor. It's not fair that utterly socialist ideas where YOU, personally, get to decide the entire market economy for a business even get heard in what should be a free country. And it's not fair that you are allowed to run for governor as the AG, using my tax dollars to pad your nest and advance your candidacy. And no, it's not fair that I can't give you a swirlie for working so hard to destroy freedom in North Carolina.
