Politicians Endorse Giving Them Money

What a shocker, huh? North Carolina Politicians agree that everyone who works should give them money just because they're politicians. And, since this is a Democrat-controlled legislature, you can bet this will pass -- what Democrat can turn down spending more government money -- especially if THEY get the money in the form of cash?

At issue is the so-called "public financing" of legislative races. Here's how it works: if you want to run for office, it doesn't cost you anything -- other than higher taxes. You just file for election (with strong restrictions that favor incumbents) and you get checks mailed to you. What a deal, huh?

Government has no business interfering with freedom of speech. Then again, as I mentioned, North Carolina is run by Democrats, and pesky things like laws really don't bother them much.
