Fishermen vs. North Carolina

Why in the world would fishermen need to form an organization to protect their industry? It's a free country, based on capitalism, right? So the only thing that private individual capitalists should need to "fight" would be their competition, right?

Wrong. Enemy #1 is the State Government. And that's wrong.

Fishermen have been forced to form an organization to "educate the various levels of government on the importance of the fishing industry." Why, you might ask? Because the state government is doing all they can to crush the industry -- because the state would like to run that industry, too -- it's called socialism, and it's the form of government that North Carolina Democrats prefer.
