First USA Gold

The USA team has it's first gold of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Chad Hedrick won gold in the men's 5000m speed skating. Damn, those guys are fast. I went ice skating (in Florida -- don't ask) a few months back. I could stay on my feet without a problem, but speed was nowhere in my thoughts...

1 If you ice-skated in Florida, I bet it was a Jewish-owned ice rink. We Jews like ice skating, and cold solaces in warm paradises.
I tried ice skating once. My ankles prefer the wide base of my feet as leverage over the thin wobbly of skate blades. They made that abundantly clear. I listen to my feet carefully.

2 I think that's why I liked roller skates -- not rollerblades, but skates -- better, too!
