NC Lottery Costs
Remember that North Carolina "education" lottery? Where the "proceeds" will go ONLY to schools? Oh, well, except for "expenses." Like the director.
South Carolina has noticed that North Carolina's lottery "director" will earn $235,000 for his first year -- the highest pay of any lottery director in the country. And his "deputies" will earn $125K - $130K per year -- more than most directors make. Good thing it's for the children, huh?

Exactly. On our Front Page yesterday there was an article on a "Pitch for slots' tax may turn to lemons". It mentions that the politicians say 'unlike the lottery, the money would supplement education dollars, not replace them'. If you believe that, I have some swamp land to sell you for $500k.

The legislators in NC tried to refute that claim by writing into the legislation that the new lottery dollars will not "replace" current dollars. And there's actually some people who believe it.

It's very easy to determine what the politicians are gonna do next. They're wearing their WWBHD bracelets (What Would Boss Hogg Do?)
