Free Dome?

It's weird the things you can find in cyberspace. I was reading a post at Harvey's about Freedom of Speech and what is considered freedom of speech.

That led me to a different post on Alex in Wonderland that was quite a bit more serious in speaking of freedom of speech, and more specifically about suppression of speech by "shouting down" or crushing someone's will for free speech.

Then, reading further into the comments on that post, Contagion piped up about something called the "Free Dome" of speech and mentioned he had posted on it before. I found a neat post of his about Cowboys and Indians, but nothing about this "Free Dome."

So I did what everyone with the internet does -- I googled it, and found it. Unfortunately, the Free Dome project apparently closed their tent and evacuated the circus grounds in Binyamina at the end of June, 2005, according to their press release. But don't worry, they're still fund raising in hopes of re-opening in the future.

I'm not quite sure how you raise funds for something that's free, nor why anyone would want to put a tent in a dome. I guess if you want to know, you should ask Harvey -- he started all this.

A free dome, eh? Okay, I'll bite. Turns out, they want to build a dome in Israel so people can dance and perform?
There are plenty of tents in Israel, and plenty of people dancing. There's no reason to give money. None at all. In fact, if you've already given, ask for your money back. The tax refund isn't worth it.

What they really need is to sit down and watch a Michael Flatly video, so they'll realize just how silly dancing really is.
If it's not at a wedding, it isn't necessary. And, it never merits a dome!

7 I think most people would support a Free Dancing Shoe Box, or a Free Dancing Shopping Bag. But, a Free Dancing tent or dome is clearly crossing the line.
