UN Blows Goats
Well you probably already knew that. They're once again making an effort to take over the internet. Why? Two reasons:
1. Money. They are jealous and want some cash. They need to find some way to replace that lost oil for food money they were stealing, and they think internet registration is a cash cow, so they're going for it. 2. Jealousy. The rest of the world really is jealous of the unfettered capitalism that promotes such growth and good ideas. Since their oppressive regimes cannot produce any new ideas, they want to steal America's. Why hasn't the UN gone the way of the League of Nations yet? Update, 11/16: The idiots (that's the UN) backed down on this one. Good move.

Follow the money, If they can't get it all by taxes then they will steal it and suck it dry.

They've actually been talking about doing this for a few years now. One of the big snags has been deciding exactly how to tax internet usage.
Unfortunately, for us Americans, EU policy has proven a lot more influential and impeding than we would like.
If they decide to tax internet usage, they will find a way to break our government's resolve and force us to abide by that tax. Be prepared for a higher broadband bill.

I think if the UN actually does get control of the internet that another internet will spring up -- a shadow internet. There's enough people with the knowledge and ability in America to simply create a new one that would be unregulated.

The UN wont go awayuntil there are no individual countries. It is what the power hungry use to try to control the world. And as long as nations continue to bow to it, it only gains power.
I'll leave the internet before I let them start taxing me for it.

There are many, many people in this world that simply despite the whole idea of the nation-state. They want one world, one government, one people.
It will NEVER happen -- absolutely 100% guaranteed.
