"Lost" Money
Interesting news headlines, when placed next to one another. Headline #1:
UNC system loses $31 million in funds
The article is about how the entire University of North Carolina system is in utter, total shambles and is about to completely collapse because the legislature "reduced" funding. And yes, like most government math, this means they actually got MORE money, just not as much as they wanted. For those who aren't familiar with government math, here's how to understand it: If you were earning $20.00 per hour and wanted to earn $25.00 per hour after your annual cost of living raise; but you only got a $2.00 per hour raise so that you were then earning $22.00 per hour -- that is, in government terms, a "pay cut" of $3.00 per hour. Going from $20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour really is a pay cut, according to government math. However, I think I found their money:
Most UNC Chancellors Get Raises
"The UNC Board of Governors has approved raises of eight to 16% for its chancellors." Oh, and that 8-16%? That's ON TOP OF the 2% raise given to all state workers. This is what happens when government is used for things it should not be. Government has ZERO business in education. They cannot do it right, they are only capable of wasting money that other people work for and earn.
