Big Victory for Socialists

Socialists can claim a huge victory in the Charlotte area of North Carolina this morning as the socialist and environmentalist candidates won elections across the board with only one tiny exception.

Environmentalist party member Pat McCrory easily won re-election as the Charlotte mayor, his 6th term, since there are no term limits. Said McCrory:

I'm mayor over everybody in this city!

Socialist Susan Burgess said,

The people of Charlotte demonstrated with their votes that they think we're on the right course

That course is: ignore crime and it will go away; raise taxes; increase spending; ignore ALL property rights; build buildings for the rich and banks uptown; spend as much money as can be raised on a train system that everyone knows will not work.

Rusty Sheridan, who was running on the Libertarian ticket until the Democrats decided it was illegal to be a registered Libertarian in North Carolina, ran a write-in campaign. I don't know how many votes he got because the Board of Elections simply ignored him. I'm not even sure they counted the votes for him.

Voters also agreed to various tax increases. Voters approved raising taxes for more midnight basketball programs and other social "intervention" programs -- on the ballot, these were hidden under the heading, "Law Enforcement Bonds." 58% of people voted for that tax increase.

52% of people also voted for another tax increase to throw more money at the community colleges. Keep in mind, these are the exact same facilities that got billions just a few years ago in bonds.

In shocking news that really, really, really disappointed every news outlet I could find, the tax increase for building yet more schools (that would be less than half full) actually failed. The moaning and wailing of the school board could be heard for miles.

In other city council races... oh wait. There were none. There are 7 city council districts and there were zero races in those districts. Can you say, "gerrymandering?" That's right, ZERO competition in any city council districts.

In the city council at-large seats, the socialists won the day. The Charlotte City council continues with it's socialist majority with the socialists getting 7 seats, democrats 3, and a moderate Republican 1.

If you are conservative, or if you believe that you should be able to work and earn your own money, you need to get the heck out of Mecklenburg County. I estimate a city tax increase of about 10-12% this year -- and that's on top of the county tax increase of 12% last year, another county tax increase likely this year, and the billions in tax increases from the state.

GET OUT NOW and let the socialists collapse upon themselves. They cannot survive without your money.

3 Charlotte's socialist mayor is a major environmentalist and enormous government proponent in Republican clothing.

And Michael, if enough people would listen and run away, socialism would completely fall flat. It depends on people working for the government!
