Pfizer Products Suck

I noticed the news in a couple of places now that the city of New London not only wants to take land from one private citizen and give it to another (and has the blessing of the US Supreme Court via Kelo vs. New London), but now they want the people whose land they are taking to pay rent!

Yes, not only will they screw you, but if you DARE to fight city hall, not only will you lose, but you will pay a cash FINE for attempting to resist them! I'm quite sure the next step, if it hasn't already been taken, will be for the city to sue the homeowners for legal fees, too!

Once again, this is far beyond wrong. If I own property, I own it. Anyone who wants it from me can try and take it, but you're not getting it while I still live. THAT's the spirit of this country. FREEDOM is what this country is all about. But more and more unelected royalty and even elected corrupt officials do not like freedom and individuals, so they try and destroy them.

Grau, over at Frizzen Sparks, has an idea -- boycott Pfizer products. Why Pfizer? Because that's the company that is going to be given these private citizens' land.

He's posted a list of all Pfizer products. He's also posted Pfizer's contact information in case you want to write them a letter. He suggests using not using "you f-ing roach felching bastards" in your letter.

I say again, "Where is my country?"

Oh how I am going to miss some of my favorite Pfizer productes, but I can make do without, and will. . . . goodbye neosporin, hello walmart brand.

2 It that where they put my country? They put it in Slovakia? Actually, having been recently liberated from behind the iron curtain, I bet Slovakia has more freedom and common sense than America does today.

4 I'm skimmed through this, and Grau's post. Is it true that they are offering far less than the properties are worth?

In the U.K, houses can be purchased if developers need to build a road, but they always offer a certain percent *more* than the market value.

6 Oh no, they NEVER give market value here. When the city takes land, they only pay for it when they HAVE to. In most cases, at least here in North Carolina, they first order the property condemned, which immediately reduces the actual value of the house by about 50%. Then the government "offers" less.

7 And Contagion, I still blame the company, because they are the ones who started this whole thing -- if the company hadn't demanded some waterfront property for their company building, none of this would have happened.

9 Pfft. Laws are only useful to those who pass them here. So it's a state thing -- the state condemns the property, and then you're really forced to sell it, because they won't let you live in it -- it's condemned! Once upon a time, many decades ago, we had this thing called the 4th Amendment. We don't have that any more.
