Cary GOP Dirty Laundry
If you want to see some of the dirty laundry being aired by the Republicans in Cary, head over here. It seems they have elected Republicans that literally do not care to what party a person belongs. Of course, that's not completely true. You see, when a person is in an elected office, their membership in a party does tend to influence their position on votes (at least if you're a Democrat).
Also, if a board is majority Republican, but a Democrat takes the place of one of the Republicans, there is zero chance ANY Republican issues will ever see the light of day (see: Charlotte City Council, Mecklenburg County Council, NC House, NC Senate). But hey, it's all about being "nice" and "non-partisan," isn't it? Never mind the politics or the laws that will be passed that are anti-freedom, right? Tell me why we even HAVE party affiliations if they don't matter?Posted by: Ogre at 01:05 PM | Comments (3) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Anti-Smoking Nazis in NC
Ah, the anti-smoking (and anti-freedom) Nazis are hard at work in North Carolina -- and they're winning. According to this poll, 65% of the people in North Carolina strongly oppose freedom and do not want anyone in North Carolina to have any freedom.
Of course, that's not what the news article says, it simply reports that 65% of people want to ban all smoking in all public places. And of course, even that information is slanted to meet the agenda of the writers. As a matter of fact, the poll asked if they opposed smoking in "public buildings, restaurants, offices and bars" -- which is a FAR cry from "in public" -- but the clear and obvious goal of these anti-freedom people. Look, if you are one of the 65% of people who support the government banning smoking in all public places, you are an anti-freedom moron. Sorry that you are, and I'm sorry if you're insulted by that statement -- but it's true. When YOU decide that I cannot smoke outdoors, YOU are supporting the complete and total destruction of freedom. It's simply none of your business. Don't start with the red herring of "second-hand smoke," because those studies have been shown to be questionable -- and they don't even apply because I could smoke and be NOWHERE NEAR ANYONE ELSE, but still be punished for exercising freedom. However, polls like this do show that any hope for freedom in North Carolina is completely and absolutely gone. If 65% of people strongly oppose freedom, how will the other 35% of us have a chance?Posted by: Ogre at 12:09 PM | Comments (9) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

Lazy Man's Bike

That One Muslim
Since we are told over and over again that Islam is a religion of peace and that the terrorists are not following the Muslims of today; and that Muslims today are not terrorists; and that the terrorists are only a tiny number of people; I think we should track that Muslim. We should follow news reports from around the world to attempt to determine where "That One Muslim" is each day.
Today I see that That One Muslims is in England, terrorizing bedridden combat troops. Yes, those troops who have been injured and can no longer defend themselves are being verbally attacked (perhaps as a precursor to physical attacks) while in the hospital. And what's the solution by the hospital administrators? No, it's not to remove That One Muslim, it's to move the troops to another wing and let That One Muslim continue his actions. So, where do you suppose That One Muslim will appear next?Posted by: Ogre at 03:30 PM | Comments (1) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Fair Taxes
by Jonathan Garner of Publius Rendezvous
It has been interesting lately to observe just what the critics of the Fair Tax have to say. Lately, much of what has been said has centered around percentages. Clever as it may be to confuse people with cleverly worded assertions that tend to fool the average American when it comes to these issues. If anyone in the audience is similar to me, it takes focused attention lest my eyes glaze over at the thought of following someone's lessons involving percentages, statistics and numbers in general.
Succinctly, what has been asserted that I have seen generally resembles something such as this: (http://www.jpfo.org/fairtax.htm)

Women in Politics
On Monday night, Peace college in Raleigh decided they needed to solve a problem. The problem was that
Women make up 54 percent of the voters in North Carolina, but just 16 percent of the public office holders in the state.
The Peace College forum was "to change that." My question: Why? Why are these people so sexist? Why can't they let people be free? Why is it wrong for people to be free to vote for anyone they want to, and instead should be forced to vote for someone based on their sex? Look, it's a free damn country (for the most part). If women want to run for office, THEY DO. It really is as simple as that. I know, because I've participated. All you have to do, literally, is walk down to the board of elections, pay your fee, and you're on the ballot. That's it. Now these idiots at Peace college apparently think that women are too stupid to do that? What another utter useless waste of taxpayer money and time. If women want to be elected, they can do exactly the same thing everyone else does. And if they want to vote for other women, THEY CAN. They don't need busybodies like this to force people to vote based on sex instead of the issues.

The Mini Windup Key
Well, on Saturday I promised a story about the wind-up key and the Mini. Well, here is isn't.
I just didn't get enough time today to put it into words, but hopefully in the next couple days you'll get the Wind-up key story and some pictures from the zoo trip, including one picture just for Tammi. Stay tuned!Posted by: Ogre at 05:41 PM | Comments (3) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Monday Night Football
So, did anyone watch the Monday Night game last night? I only caught part of it (it stays on way past my bedtime), but what I saw was absolutely awful. No, not the football players, the announcers.
My impression was that I was listening to a radio talk show and there happened to be a football game going on. I watched about 45 minutes to an hour of the game and not one time did the announcers say the down and distance -- not one time. They were too busy talking to one another, telling jokes, picking out whether Aquaman could beat Superman, and other such crap. They missed penalty call announcements on the field because they were answering emails from viewers. They missed injured players because they were talking about the history of some other players that weren't even on the field. That was really, really awful. Maybe the second half they actually announced the game.Posted by: Ogre at 05:08 PM | Comments (4) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Back-To-School Parents
Is the concept of shame completely lost to society today? The more I observe, the less I see people even conceive of shame or guilt. Is there anything that would be considered shameful at all in America today?
In the last couple months, I've now heard of three different "contests" where people compete, either by writing, calling, or just being randomly selected, to celebrate "Back to School" -- only it's not celebrating "Back to School," it's celebrating "The Kids Are Out of the House and Back In School." And no, that's not my interpretation of it, one radio station called their promotion something like "Let's Party, The Kids are Back in School." If you openly and publicly celebrate your children going back to school, you should be ashamed of yourself. Go ahead, call me all sorts of names. Feel free to tell me that I don't understand. Tell me that I don't get it. Tell me I can't comprehend it. I will not change my position. You are sending quite a message here, when you publicly celebrate your children being sent away from you for 8 hours a day. How would you feel if you stayed with me for the weekend, then I posted about a celebration I was having to celebrate your leaving? The kids know this. The kids get it. The kids don't understand why you hate them so much that you want to celebrate sending them away. Now I'm not talking about a sense of relief, or a sense that things will be calmer around the house during the day. I'm talking about a public, open celebration. You ARE sending a message to your children. The message is: I DON'T WANT YOU HERE. Nice message. If you don't want to raise kids, don't have them. If you have them and don't want them, talk to a church or adoption center and let someone have them who does want them. What, did you think your responsiblity for your children ended after conception? Did you think that it's the state's responsibility to raise them once they're 5 years old? If you truly love your children and desire them, you should be disappointed they're away from you all day long for 9 or 10 months of the year. And again, I'm not talking about the slight relief you feel once you've packed them all off and the house is quiet. You should not celebrate openly that your children will be away from you. You should not brag to others on the phone that you're "relieved" that the kids are back in school. The kids can hear you and see you. They are getting the very clear message that they're not wanted. Think about it. For those who have read this far and still hate me for calling you out on this one, don't worry, some day your children will grow up and leave you. Then you won't have to deal with them at all during the day or night.Posted by: Ogre at 04:01 PM | Comments (10) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Gay Old Pedophiles
Vox Day, writing Monday, in an article titled, "Gay Old Pedophiles" really nails it. It's a home run.
He points out that cigars, interns, and blue dresses would be a welcome relief today -- as opposed to what we're seeing and reading about the Republican SUPPORT of the pedophile Mark Foley. Since the late 80s and early 90s I have rallied against the Republican Party support of running government like a business and making it the "party of the big tent." As Vox notes -- the Republican Party big tent is now large enough to encompass everyone, while advancing no agenda -- other than that of retaining power. Yes, that's exactly how the Democrats have operated for decades -- sacrifice anything to retain power. And that's the election this year, how it was in 2004, and how it will likely be in 2008: Don't vote for the other guy, he's bad.Any genuine conservative would have to be blind, deaf and cognitively challenged to continue to support the Republican Party.
As I've said before -- Conservatives have no political party today.

MN Muslim Cabbies
I imagine my friend έχω ζωη would know more about this situation since he lives near there. Apparently Muslims who drive cabs are now refusing to drive anyone who carries alcohol with them.
As usual, the Muslims claim, "I cannot force anybody to change their belief." While actually trying to do that very same thing. Meanwhile, "Airport officials have begun working with taxi drivers to install colour-coded lights on taxi roofs to indicate which are alcohol friendly and which are not." Now I'm not sure about MN, but everywhere else I've been, all people who drive cabs have to have licenses and permissions from the city. So, since these cabbies are working with the permission of the city, they are imposing their religious beliefs on anyone else who wants to use the cab. So where is the ACLU? Why isn't the ACLU trying to get these cabbies to stop because this is just as clearly a government endorsement of religion, isn't it? I wish I had the time and money to really create test cases for these things. How far do you think I'd get if I drove a cab at the airport, but before I'd let anyone ride, I'd ask them if they had accepted Jesus as their savior -- and then refused to let them in if they didn't? Oh, I wouldn't be forcing my beliefs on anyone, just not letting anyone in who didn't completely and totally accept my beliefs. My suggestions for everyone who goes through the MN airport: carry six-packs of beer when you need a cab.Posted by: Ogre at 02:08 PM | Comments (7) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
NC Government Economics
The latest news out of the Democrat-run State "Education System" is that tuition at the University system be "capped" at an annual increase of 6.5% per year for the next four years. Of course, that's how government views economics -- they simply dictate all spending and everything else will bend to their will.
Why do they want to do this? Because tuition has gone up 71% in the last 6 years. Why has the tuition gone up? Because the state keeps giving more money to the schools for students. In North Carolina, the state gives money to the schools for each student enrolled. That money is used as part of the tuition for the student. Therefore, the more money the state gives, the higher the tuition. So, will costs go down? No, of course not. So how will the schools get the money? According to UNC President Erskine Bowles, "from the State Legislature." This is the world according to Democrats: instead of state schools getting money from the state, the state schools instead should get more money from the state. How about we do something logical? How about we ask the students to pay for their own education? Wouldn't that be a novel concept? How about students get exactly what they pay for? Or, better yet, why not get the state out of trying to maintain a monopoly on higher education? And yes, I'm aware that "logic" and "Democrat-led NC state government" do NOT go in the same sentence, EVER.Posted by: Ogre at 01:10 PM | Comments (2) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)

Environmentalist Reasons to oppose immigration
Note from Ogre: Watch this video if you care about this country and it's future. Seriously.
By Heidi at Euphoric Reality This is a MUST SEE video for anyone interested in the immigration debate, whether you are a citizen, a legal immigrant, an illegal alien or a Congressman. This clip is from the longer video, Immigration by the Numbers, and features Roy Beck of NumbersUSA demonstrating the catastrophe of unrestricted immigration by Third World people into our nation. He uses standard statistics and simple gumballs to show this disaster in the making. This video is very short - only 17 minutes total - don't miss it! Even if you think you know what our future looks like, this video will shock you!H/T for the video: Third World County Here are some additional resources concerning the population disaster that is pending for our nation.:

Jihad Commercials
If you haven't heard about the jihad commercials, head over to the Scratching Post and see -- Jacob the Syrian Hamster apparently even found a clip from one of the ads.
Note: unfortunately, last I heard, the ad campaign was cancelled due to "pressure" from terrorists.Posted by: Ogre at 03:03 PM | Comments (5) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
Words in Context
Have you seen this video? It puts the recent words of the Pope and radical Islam in context quite nicely.
If you don't get it yet -- you need to realize that Muslims literally want to take over the word, and they're willing to use any means to do that -- violent or otherwise. On another blog, I recently had a conversation with a Muslim who honestly does not believe in freedom, good and evil, or human rights AT ALL. He continued the argument about "what about those Muslims in America who work and vote, etc." -- and then he advanced their position and purpose. He honestly saw absolutely NOTHING wrong with passing a law in America that required public beheading for spitting on the sidewalk -- as long as the majority voted for it. This is what we are up against: it is a religion that will stop at nothing to force the entire world to submit to them and follow their laws. Don't forget the rallying cry of this religion: "Behead those who insult Islam."Posted by: Ogre at 02:03 PM | Comments (1) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
NC Government Funds
Here is yet another example of the problems with massive government and the total lack of freedom such a government creates. The obviously biased headline screams, "Funds helping emotionally disturbed children cut by $6 million." As usual, that's simply not true.
Instead, the NC Legislature increased spending in this area by $80 million. That's correct, 80 million more dollars that the people of North Carolina have to work and produce will be taken by the state to be spent on drug addicts, the disabled, and "mental health." But even though people will have to work harder and work more so they can get this $80 million INCREASE, those bureaucrats who are part of the system are screaming and yelling that they're actually getting LESS. I don't know how the author can actually write these lines without feeling like a total idiot (emphasis mine):Programs ... that were supposed to get $30.5 million will now get $24.5 million. Groups across the state that use the funds are working to trim budgets, weeks after the Legislature approved the largest increase for mental health since 2001.
The largest increase since 2001 is still being called a cut! There is no byline for this "story" -- it just gives credit to the anti-freedom and anti-American organization, The Associated Press. But wait, there's more to show how horrible enormous government has become. After screaming and yelling and getting the anti-freedom biased press to print this report that's supposed to tug at your heartstrings and make you feel sorry for these poor "emotionally disturbed children;" the story then reports, "services will not be reduced because of the funding cut, said Leza Wainwright." In other words, they're whining and complaining that an increase of $80 million is a cut and it's the end of the world, but they're not actually reducing any services. Are there really people that are stupid enough to believe these morons any more? This is like me not owing you any money, then giving you a gift of $20, then you complaining that you can't buy anything with the $20 because it's not enough and I'm cheap, but they you go and buy exactly what you wanted. What a horrible pile of crap. But yes, there's MORE. In addition, "State officials have tried to reduce local administrative costs for two years by using Medicaid dollars." In other words, they can claim they've reduced costs if they simply take tax money from somewhere else! You know, I could reduce my car payments if I rob a bank using that logic. Big, Democrat-run liberal/socialist government really, really sucks. It's total misuse and abuse like this that helps me cement my position. Since liberals always want to "compromise," my position is zero funding for any government "health" agency. Now let's compromise. Anyone involved with this agency or that has anything to do with the funding for it should be ashamed of themselves for being so wasteful with money that's not even theirs. But today the concept of shame is missing from society. So is being responsible with your own money, much less someone else's that you take by force. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

Off to the Zoo
I mentioned earlier in the week that I would be out taking pictures on Saturday. I have decided to head to the zoo with animals in cages (at Asheboro) instead of the zoo with animals outside their cages (the "impeach Bush" rally in Freedom Park, Charlotte, NC).
Sorry for those of you hoping I would go to the more entertaining zoo -- this weekend I decided to head for a nicer, calmer zoo with more reasonable and rational animals.Posted by: Ogre at 02:32 PM | Comments (9) | Add Comment | Trackbacks (Suck)
