Steyn hits another one

Mark Steyn hits another one out of the ballpark. Europe is a lost cause, despite the fact that there are indications that the Dutch, at least, are waking up to the danger they are facing.

I fear that the inertia of the Continent as a whole will preclude an easy reversal of that danger however. The United States has come to Europe's rescue twice in the last hundred years, and we have continued to assure Europes liberty for the last sixty years, leading them into a sense of complacency; this time, it should be up to the Europeans to extricate themselves. They have to come to the realization that freedom ISN'T free, and not depend on outside forces to pay the costs.

1 Another winner, they no longer need the U.S. Europe has their beloved UN to protect them, and when things get tough they can always rely on the French Foreign Legion to rescue them.
