Talk to me, people - Hockey Whoopass Jamboree update

I'm getting lots of suggestions from folks about the Jamboree and what to do if the NHL tanks the season. I think Victor suggested the ECHL first, and because I'm most familiar with it and it has the largest spread of teams I thought that was a good idea. But other good suggestions have come up. So we'll hash it out in the comments, which way to we go with this (assuming the ~~bastards~~ NHL doesn't pull its collective head out).

1 My heart is a little closer to the ECHL, even though we no longer have the Ice Breakers. (If we go with the ECHL, I'll take the Pensacola Ice Pilots.) If we go AHL, I'll take the Portland Pirates...and come to think of it, if we actually have an NHL season, I'm kinda taking the Pirates then, too.
Or we could pool our resources and buy a team in the Southeast Hockey League
How about it? The Hot Jets take to the ice!

5 Uh, sweetie--I was going to start my campaign to buy an SEHL team after the CBA runs out. They will be called, of course, the Rink Rats. Ted can buy his own team and call 'em the Hot Jets.

I can't believe the talk I am hearing "if we don't have an NHL season."

Oh for shame people, I just refuse to believe we won't have a full season.
