X-prize attempt goes kablooie.
These guys are trying to do this on the cheap, and it shows. Then again, there's no reason why their methods won't work. If it was easy, it'd been done long ago. Good luck and keep trying!

Ted, I assume you saw that Carmack's "big" Armadillo test vehicle crashed at almost the same time?
He's pretty upbeat about it as a learning experience, although bummed about the loss of time.
