The Mire of Blargh

I'm still trapped in the Mire of Blargh - which is to say, I have a cold, or possibly the flu - and my brain is functioning no better than yesterday - which is to say, not at all - so here's a chapter from my forthcoming* book, Stone Dead, to keep you occupied.

*Forthcoming as soon as I finish it and find someone to publish it, that is.

2 I like Stone Dead so far. Interesting world, interesting character. Read the relevant FAQs at http://bar.baen.com:8080/ and then submit what you've written to the slush pile. This is not publishing, but it will get you constructive feedback and has gotten more than one author published.
