The Spongmonkeys Get An A

Those of you familiar with Joel Veitch's rathergood.com (home to the Viking Kittens and Spode Blode and the Giant Bee) would immediately have recognised the critters in the Quizno's Subs ad as these guys.

They're called spongmonkeys.

I don't know why.

But Ad Report Card on Slate gives them an A.

(My favourite is still the kittens singing Independent Women. "If Destiny's Child were kittens from Northern England, this is what they would sound like.")

(Thanks to Crossbow on the JREF Forums.)

(Oh, and the Wrong Bananas song is good too.)

(Update: Blode and the Giant Bee. Well, it only took me six months to fix that.)

2 If there was any other Munuvian on the JREF forums, I figured it would be you. I should start reading those again sometime soon...

3 That's what those farking things are called!

Spongmonkeys!

My daughter loves those freaky things. Every single time that Quiznos commercial comes on, she's enraptured. Sometimes she walks toward the TV, as if enspelled, to rest her hands on the screen and whisper to them.

It's eerie, I tells ya. Eerie.
