Too Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Okay.
I can now report that lightning comes in three types: Type 1: Flash! <Pause> Rumble rumble rumble. Good old comfortable watching-the-show lightning. Type 2: FLASH! CERACKACKACK!! The "heh, that was pretty close" lightning. Type 3: BLAM! Type 3 lightning is particularly effective at 4:30 in the morning when everybody is fast asleep. There's no point in doing it again, though, because nobody's going to get back to sleep for a long time.

Just remember, If your still alive enough to hear the thunder, the lightening wasn't too close!

I hope all your computers are ok. It sounds like you are just getting them to work. It would be a shame for lightning like that to kill them.

My computers didn't even bobble when the lightning hit.
My Windows box rebooted overnight, but that's the first time in a month, so I'll forgive it.

I've had Type 3 lightning before. One time it happened just as I turned the bathroom light on. I thought I'd blown the house up by accident.
